As with any type of insurance, health insurance can be a pretty tricky thing. In my experience I have found it best to rely on a local insurance company rather than seeking coverage from a company half way across the country. Local insurance companies tend to provide better rates, better service and just seem to go that little bit extra to make sure you have the kind of coverage you really need for you and your family.
Another great point to be made for local heath insurance providers, is the simple yet extremely important fact that you can go and speak a live person should you have any questions or concerns. Whereas with a non-local based company, you can find yourself tied up for hours on the phone listening to a pre-recorded message and having to play the press this number game.
The idea is a simple one; if you live in Pennsylvania then seek Pennsylvania health insurance, if you live in Pittsburgh, then look for Pittsburgh health insurance, if you find yourself in Philadelphia .. you guessed it, get Philadelphia health insurance. People from your local community are far more bound to treat you with more care and attention.
