Medicare has its two parts

To get a Medicare plan one has to have one or both of these parts.

Medicare part A has the coverage like care in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and in some cases of home health care. In this part people don’t have to pay a monthly premium because they are paying the taxes while working.

Medicare part B has the coverage in doctor’s services, clinical lab services and preventive services. In this part one has to pay a monthly premium($78.20 in 2005). If you haven’t sign up for part B you should do it now because the rate of Part B might go up 10% for every full 12-month.

If anyone gets Railroad Retirement Board, Medicare Part A automatically starts at the age 65 and if you don’t want Medicare Part B you should come with your Medicare card.

If any person is under 65 and is physically disabled, then he/she will be automatically enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B after getting a certificate from RRB.
